Are indian DJs as good as English DJs?

Sure there are a lot of Indian DJs but everytime I listen to one of their so called remixes it's the same **** over and over ( add more dhol, bruhhs, or add rap over it). Some exceptions like Talvin Singh, Punjabi MC, and Bally Sagoo.

On the English side you have Paul Oakenfold (the best bar none), Timo Maas, DJ Tiësto, RITM... (I like Trance music if you can't tell). If you listen a remix done by one of these guys its a completely reworking of the song. Just listen to Maas remix of Star 69 for Fatboy Slim or DJ Tiësto's mix of Silence or Oakies mix of Beautiful Day.

So Indian DJ will just be like rap artist (except Missy E. only rap artist I like) : sampling music from other greats because they can't make their own beats with TR808s, TS404s, TR909s...

Err - am I missing the point? Why does music today have to be a remix of everything that's gone before?

What the hell is wrong with putting down something new?

It's easy to revamp something that has already been done - but it takes talent to create something new!

Sign of the times maybe?

yo man, me being a dj myself makes it easy for me to say wot i'm gonna say now....................
Asian dj's like myself can compete with the white boys and for a fact we are better coz we got the tunes from the roots of bhangra, they all jus copy our tunes eg Punjabi MC- mundian to Bach ke and Bhangra Knights feat Husan. The gorras jus wanna copy out tunes coz they r the bomb and some r also eazy to mix .
Peace out

Just being a DJ (isn't everyone a DJ this day and age?) doesn't make you an expert. Last time I checked it wasn't white people who where using Bhangra tunes it was Hip Hop artist like Dr. Dre, Missy Elliot, etc.

>90% of the "remixes" released in the Bhangra industry today and in the 90s are just Bhangra songs with some hip hop, disco, jungle, etc. samples layered on top of the song. If you're gonna remix a song at least start with a clean slate (vocals) and build up (adding samples, etc.) instead of just placing the same beat that 300 million other Bhangra DJs have already used. If a DJ is gonna do that then I could release a new "remix" every week.

Also when you listen to mix in any other genre you can easily recognize which artist did the mix because they have their own unique way of producing tracks. Can you even say that about any Bhangra DJ? Okay maybe DJ Sanj because he just samples the latest Dr. Dre release.
